Are the Championships open to the public?

Public are welcome to watch all matches at Sydney Polo Club. Tickets can be bought at the entrance gates or online prior to the event. It is a family friendly event and children are welcome.

Where is Sydney Polo Club?

The Sydney Polo Club is located in the Hawkesbury region, more information and a map can be found in our Location section.

How long does the match last?

All preliminary game will be played over five chukkas (lasting approx 75 minutes), with the final played over six chukkas Medium (approx 90 minutes).

What should I wear?

Generally we recommend smart/casual clothes, with comfortable shoes for walking on grass. However if the weather is inclement please dress accordingly, we recommend a hat and sunglasses on a hot day and a jacket and gumboots on a wet day.

Will I be able to get anything to eat?

In the hospitality marquee sections the food will be catered. For general admission there will be opportunities to purchase food onsite.

Where is the nearest station?

The nearest train station is Richmond Station, which is 3.5km from the fields.

Where can I buy a ticket?

What is the largest group size that can attend?

There is no maximum to number of tickets sold in one transaction.

Where is there local accommodation?

Is there an opportunity to volunteer at the event?

Can I have a stall?

Yes, we will be taking applications for stalls. Please see our Stalls and Exhibitions section.

What countries will be competing?

It is not yet know all eight teams. There are six spots still being vied for. Australia is guaranteed a spot as the host nation as is Chile as the reigning title holder. We will know all of the countries by May 2017.

Do I need a visa to visit Australia?

Unless you are from Australia or New Zealand you will need a visa to visit Australia. For more information please click here.

Is the event accessible to people with disabilities?

Yes it is. There will be a range of facilities. It is suggested to get to the event early to avoid navigating crowds. Please call in advance to assure any specific needs are met.
